NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) OF

NEW ZEALAND MALAYSIAN SOCIETY

to be held on Sunday 2nd May 2021 from 5.00 pm.

The AGM is strictly open to the Patron of the New Zealand Malaysian Society and its financial members only - please ensure that your membership status is current and up to date.

In order for the New Zealand Malaysian Society to meet its quorum, your attendance is vital. 

Non-members and guests are invited to join the New Zealand Malaysian Society to enjoy the benefits accorded to members - to join, please fill in the attached membership form together with the payment of the appropriate membership fees. 

Note: Yearly membership is from 1st January to 31st December.

The Audited Financial Report ending 31st December 2020 will be emailed out to financial members prior to the AGM.

For catering purposes, we would appreciate the confirmation of your attendance by Wednesday 28th April 2021.

Pursuant to Rule 9 v & vi below, attached is the nomination form. 

v. Nominations for members of the Committee shall be called for at least 21 days before an Annual General Meeting. Each candidate shall be proposed and seconded in writing by Members and the completed nomination delivered to the Secretary. Nominations shall close at 5pm on the fifth day before the Annual General Meeting. All retiring members of the Committee shall be eligible for re-election.

vi. If in the event that there is no or insufficient written nominations received for the Office Bearers and/or Committee members before the closing date, on the day of the Annual General Meeting the Members in attendance may decide by majority vote for the appointment of any Member to fill that vacancy and/or vacancies.

On Thursday July 17 at around 14:15 GMT the lives of 298 people on flight MH17 were ended abruptly. 

Our heartfelt deepest condolences goes out to 

their loves one, families and friends. 

Let us all pray for the 298 victims of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH 17. 

Thursday 24th July marks the one week anniversary of the lost of 298 innocent lives on Malaysian Airlines flight MH17. 

As a mark of respect to the victims, let us all observe

a minute silence at

For those in Malaysia, the minute silence will be at 10.15am Malaysia time.
